RAWAYA - Sri Lanka Muslim Congress contemplate towards the Tamilnadu politicians visit to Sri Lanka as only the ruling parliament members were called by the Sri Lankan government. The Tamilnadu political representatives visited Sri Lanka to observe the displaced people, are members from ruling congress and Diravida Munnetra Alliance parties hence the minority parties are much perturbed, as to why the government parliament members are only called by the Sri Lankan government Meanwhile…AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa today alleged that the 10-member MPs delegation from Tamil Nadu, on a visit to Sri Lanka to study the plight of the Tamils housed in relief camps, was a team of assorted politicians and its outcome could well be conjectured. In a statement here, she said the ''all-party Parliamentary delegation'' to Sri Lanka was not an ''all-party'' affair at all. ''Very cleverly, MP from these parties have been selected to give the impression that it is a Parliamentary delegation and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa might also be a victim of this subterfuge and will be rolling out the red carpet to them under the mistaken impression that they are official delegates of the Indian Government,'' she claimed.

RAWAYA- Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama has conveyed deep concern and condemnation of the Government of Sri Lanka to the Norwegian Government over a meeting held by the Advisory Committee for the formation of the Provisional Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (PTGTE) in Oslo, Norway this month.Foreign Minister Bogollagama summoned the Norwegian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Tore Hattrem yesterday and informed him that the Government had learnt of a meeting in Oslo, Norway by LTTE front organisations where an action plan for the establishment of a PTGTE had been formulated. He said that, that it was a matter of serious concern to note that the LTTE and its proxies were meeting and operating in Norway. The Minister pointed out that the bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Norway being strong, such activities and meetings should not be permitted by Norway to take place on her soil. The Foreign Minister also maintained that such meetings would only lead to what the LTTE had been seeking all these years, of a separate state, and that Norway should not allow activities which are a threat to Sri Lanka's sovereignty.Responding to Foreign Minister Bogollagama, ambassador Hattrem stated that his Government shared Sri Lanka's concern and reiterated that Norway has been against the call for a separate state and had remained consistent on this issue. He also rubbished the notion of a Transnational Government and reemphasised that the Norwegian Government would not tolerate any activities against a friendly country like Sri Lanka and added that Norway was committed to the various resolutions of the UN Security Council to combat terrorism.

RAWAYA - Sri Lanka’s Ambassador Jaliya Wickremasuriya, was summoned to the Department of State to be told of the US Government’s displeasure. Robert Blake, Assistant Secretary, South and Central Asian Affairs, had expressed ”great concern” over the remarks and he wanted to know whether this was the official position of the Government of Sri Lanka,on the remarks of Ratnasiri Wickremanayake's statement made on state radio that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has forgotten the “Monica Lewinsky episode"The call for the meeting had come on Thursday, just a day after Premier Wickremanayake had made the remarks. There was no immediate word on the official response of the Government. On Wednesday, the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation’s (SLBC) Subharti programme featured Premier Wickremanayake. He fielded questions on a number of subjects. According to a recording heard by the Sunday Times, when asked about Ms. Clinton’s remarks, he replied in Sinhala “Meka Maara Magulak ne. Clinton nonata Monica gena amathakawela. (This is a hell of a problem. Ms. (Hillary) Clinton has forgotten the Monica Lewinsky episode it seems). He said Ms. Clinton should put “her house in order without trying to live in a glass house and pelt stones at others.”The Prime Minister’s office later issued a statement based on Mr. Wickremanayake’s comments to SLBC. However, the references about Monica Lewinsky were left out. It only said that Ms. Clinton should put her house in order.
